Brian Subach, MD, FACS, brings a combination of expert training, years of experience, and a sharp clinical mind to Subach Spinal Solutions. The practice is a leader in neurosurgery and spine care in Arlington, Virginia. Dr. Subach's work has earned him numerous awards and recognitions throughout his career, including consistently being named to the Castle Connolly Guide to Top Doctors,, Northern Virginia Magazine as well as the Washingtonian Top Doctors.
Dr. Subach graduated cum laude from Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan, with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. In addition to his undergraduate studies, Dr. Subach played Division III football and lacrosse. He then attended medical school at University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan, graduating with honors.
For his postgraduate studies, Dr. Subach completed a general surgery internship and a neurosurgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. While there, he served as chief resident during his last year. He continued his training with a fellowship in complex spinal disorders in the neurological surgery department at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Subach has authored 15 book chapters and over 50 articles relating to spinal disorders. He is a member of numerous national and international professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, the North American Spine Society (NASS), and the American Association of Neurological Surgery (AANS).
